The TIME Alpe D’Huez 01 Aktiv Disc Carbon Frame
At TIME, they believe there is no point in buying a climbing bike that rides great uphill, but is nervous on the descents and hard on the flats. The TIME Alpe d'Huez 01 Disc Aktiv is the lightest bike they've ever made and one of the most responsive. Using our own RTM production, they are able to combine a higher proportion of high modulus carbon with high resistance and weave in a section of Vectran fibers. As a result, they were able to improve its stiffness-to-weight ratio by 25% compared to our last great climbing bike, the Izon.
The addition of the TIME Aktiv Carbon Fork gives this professional road bike a new level of comfort. We create the Aktiv Fork by using a unique braiding technique where carefully chosen Vectran fibers are woven into a unique shape that dampens vibrations before they reverberate in the rider's hands.
The racing geometry has been modified to put the rider in aggressive positions that are still comfortable on windy flats and stable fast descents. The BB386 bottom bracket allows it to improve the stiffness of that all-important intersection, encouraging excellent power transfer. This is a road bike for anyone who enjoys adventures in the mountains.
