The TIME ADHX Carbon Frame
TIME's first gravel bike has quickly scored several wins - the ADHX (Alpe d'Huez X) is the first of its kind to use Bio-Based Dyneema, the world's strongest fibre, to build a higher-performance machine. It is the first to use braided carbon structure (BCS), a TIME-exclusive feature that outperforms traditional carbon prepreg construction in almost every way by integrating different types of fibres into each multidirectional braid. The ADHX is first in quality and tolerance control thanks to the high-precision resin transfer moulding (RTM) process and is manufactured entirely in the EU using one of the most sustainable manufacturing processes in the industry. TIME's first performance gravel offering is more than a superficial nod - in many ways, the ADHX's arrival makes it clear leader in a very crowded field - with a pedigree to spare, an iconic look and an attitude eager to make a splash.
Bio-based DYNEEMA fibre is lighter, stronger and smarter
Dyneema fibre is 15x stronger than steel at the same weight and is so light that it floats on water. The promise of integrating Dyneema into carbon structures has been making headlines for years, but so far few manufacturers have succeeded in incorporating the material. TIME is different - it does not rely on the availability of materials from major carbon prepreg manufacturers. By weaving its own braided carbon structures (BCS), TIME has been able to test strands of sustainable Bio-Based Dyneema fibres since they first became available from DSM. And unlike the high-temperature ovens used to cure standard prepreg frames, the lower resin temperature of the RTM injection process is well within the safe temperature range for Dyneema.
